Dawn at the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal seen in the colours of sunrise

After standing in the darkness forever, dawn came swiftly in India.

Night was swirling away when the turnstiles opened, and I walked through to see the Taj Mahal for the first time.

It was worth rising in the darkness just for these magical moments.

For a chance to see the Taj Mahal with so few people around. For a chance to be the first person in the tomb, and have the place to myself before the noise of the day came to disrupt my thoughts.
